Who I Am

desert trip112606_5
I am currently a photojournalism major and photography minor at San Jose State University. I am currently an “amateur” photographer with aspirations of becoming a “professional” as soon as possible. While I am mainly a photojournalist I also enjoy experimenting with more fine-art photographic styles. However, being rather underfunded as college students typically are my ability to “roam” the photographic landscape is somewhat limited but I do what I can with what I have. Thanks for looking!

A picture snapped of my girlfriend Stephanie climbing inside a rock in Castle Rock, a California State park.

Taken with kodak TMAX 100 film and printed in San Jose State's dark room.

Dandy |

Dandylion in the backyard.

Taken with my 50mm and e-tubes in my backyard. Nothing special. Sometimes it is the simple, everyday things that make the most beautiful subjects for photographs.

Peace Thursday, April 5, 2007 |

Taken at dusk using a torch light to write the letters. This is one exposure(not a composite).

My father in Black & White |

This is dad. He isn't really in black and white in real life, just so you know.

wet leaf take 3 Wednesday, April 4, 2007 |

Just a simple macro shot. Taking advantage of morning light. Just a rather simple "stock" photo, but it's still one of my favorites.

Dad in the pool |

Black and white print from neopan 100 film.
This is my father, floating in my grandparent's pool. What more can I say?

Metaphor project |

This series was created for my intermediate black and white photography class at San Jose State.
All of the images are darkroom prints made from Neopan Acros 100 film.

Each of the images to the right represent a "feeling." I am not going to say what each of these pictures means, that's what your job is.

The original series was 10 images long but has been cut short for the sake of this post

A Special Thanks...

I would like to give a special thanks to my Mom and Dad for always pushing me and supporting me in all of my endeavors. I want to thank all of my close friends, you know who you are. I also want to thank my wonderful, beautiful Stephanie who gives me confidence and inspiration every day.
